Concert pianist Jarred Dunn won first prize and concerto award at the 7th Lithuanian International Chopin Competition, third prize at the Jan Hoffman International Competition (Kraków), and prizes in piano and chamber music at the D. Vitti, Verona Zinetti, and Rome International Competitions. He is described by critics as "evocative and mystical" (NYC Classical Music), "a piano sound-colour magician" (Muzikos Barai), "an incredible performer" (TVP Vilnius), and "technically perfect" (Belarus Radio). His critically-acclaimed discography includes Chopin and Debussy (AFA 2019), Brahms in Solitude (Yamaha 2022), Chopin's Diary: The Mazurkas (Lexicon 2024), and H.M. Górecki's complete piano solo and duo works, recorded with Górecki's daughter, Anna Górecka.
Brahms in Solitude received five-star ratings in LaScena Musicale and Piano Professional, and a review calling Dunn "a Brahms natural. His interpretations are timeless and still…his soft sound is at once full-bodied and resonant, at times unthinkably quiet. Like Radu Lupu, Jarred Dunn is a 'thinking' pianist who knows how to place every note" (LaScena Musicale). Mr. Dunn's recordings are heard on CBC, Classical 96.3FM, WWFM, WQXR, 98.7 WVMO, Belarusian First, Madison Radio/TV, etc. CBC featured him on This is My Music, Top Thirty Under Thirty, and Five Things I Learned From Maria João-Pires.
Mr. Dunn performs at important concert halls including Yamaha Centre, NOSPR Katowice, Dvorana Hall, Klavierhaus Göttingen, Silesian Philharmonic, Warsaw Chopin Museum, Vilnius Town Hall, Cavatina Hall, Isabel Bader Centre, Owen Arts Center, Opéra de Bordeaux, Chapelle du Bon-Pasteur Montréal, Canada Music Centre, Juilliard School, Klavierhaus NYC, etc. As a chamber musician he performs with violinist Anna Kuk as Duo Mirage, in piano duo with Maria João-Pires and Anna Górecka, and with ATMA Quartet, and has performed recitals at the Cecilia, Vancouver Valley, Caledon, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Toronto chamber music concert series. He has served as collaborative pianist for Brahms Summer Festival (Austria), and is artist-faculty at Semaine International Piano et Musique de Chambre (Switzerland), Chetham's International Summer School for Pianists (Manchester), Talent Music Master Courses (Brescia), and Tonebase Summer Piano (Vermont). He has appeared as concerto soloist with Vilnius, Lithuanian Chamber, Toruń, Budapest, Belarus Radio/TV, NOSPR, Toronto Sinfonia, York, and Niagara Symphony Orchestras, among others.
