Natasha Frid Finlay has played the piano since the age of three, and taught since 1998 in Montreal, Toronto, Oakville, London (England) and Paris (France). She runs a studio in Toronto, offering piano classes in English and French, as well as online using MIDI technology. She also teaches theory, history and keyboard harmony.
A piano examiner for the Royal Conservatory of Music, Natasha is much in demand for music festival adjudication across the province, as well as online. She is guest faculty at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists, teaching musicians how to perform Baroque Dances. Her teaching method is featured on the "Inspiring Artistry" video series at the Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy.
Natasha holds an ARCT in Piano Performance with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her ARCT in Piano Pedagogy earned her two Gold Medals from the RCM for both Elementary and Intermediate levels, receiving the highest marks of all candidates. She is currently preparing for her Licentiate Diploma with Trinity College in London, England.
Natasha is an organizer of the Canadian Contemporary Showcase festival in Toronto, and her own studio partners with the Community Music Schools of Toronto, funding over 6,000 classes to date. Equally involved in dance, Natasha is a freelance choreologist for The National Ballet of Canada. She tutors for the Royal Academy of Dance's distance learning courses.
