Phil Murphy was a well known music educator, conductor and performer in the London area. Mr. Murphy's professional performing experience included the RCR Band, the London Symphony, area concert bands and dance bands. He was a skilled clarinet soloist.
Mr. Murphy had a long career as a music department head with the London Board of Education and Catholic Central High School He was a regular participant in the Kiwanis Music Festival of London.

He was conductor of Encore…the Concert Band. He was on the Mayor's New Years Honour Roll for contribution to the arts and inducted into the Music Hall of Fame for London.
