Chamber Music

Chamber Music
Music written for three, four, or five instruments played with one instrument to a 'part'; all the parts having equal importance.

Members can include combination of recognized orchestral instruments, with or without piano and/or one vocalist.

Performance Requirements

  • Chamber Groups must enter the level of the highest level/grade member.
  • For example: for players with three in grade 5 and one in grade 8 - they must enter the Junior level.
  • Chamber Groups must perform one (1) selection.
  • Multi-movements of one work will counted as one (1) selection.
  • Provide all necessary details of your selections, including accurate timing. "To Be Decided" in any field will not be accepted.
    The only exception to this is the field labelled "Movement/Musical". If your piece does not have any movements please put "none".
  • Maximum performance times are listed below:

Elementary Level (Levels 1-5): Thirty (30) minutes
Junior Level (Levels 6-9): Thirty (30) minutes
Senior Level (Level 10, Diploma, Open): Forty-five (45) minutes

Provincial Qualifications
In each Level Division, up to three (3) competitors will be recommended for the Provincial competition (OMFA) held live in Kitchener/Waterloo in June (9-14) 2025.

Competitors must receive a minimum mark of 85 in order to receive a recommendation.
