MARLENE AND GERALD FAGAN TROPHY

Mixed Voice Choir combined with Band or Orchestra.

For over 50 years, Marlene and Gerald Fagan have devoted their lives to the advancement of Choral music in Canada. Both students and adults have been the recipients of their talent and enthusiasm for this art form. They have worked with adult and youth choirs from across Canada, were founders of the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir, were twice the Conductor and Accompanist of the Ontario Youth Choir and during this time they had a regular concert and rehearsal schedule in London with Fanshawe Chorus London and the Gerald Fagan Singers.

They toured Europe a number of times with the Fagan Singers all the while promoting Canadian Music. They now are involved with the Bach Music Festival of Canada. Gerald is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of this festival, held in Exeter bi annually and Marlene is the accompanist for Chor Amica – the resident chamber choir of the Festival.
Marlene and Gerald continue to discover and promote Canadian choral music.

They are thrilled to donate this trophy for Choir/Orchestra or Band to the Kiwanis Festival with the hope this will encourage young people to keep singing and playing!
