One of Canada 's foremost choral conductors of the 20th century, Earle Terry was born in Toronto in 1912. He became music director for the London , Ontario , Board of Education in 1947.

Shortly after arriving in this city, Mr. Terry formed the Earle Terry Singers (1948), a female choir which broadcast regularly on CBC Radio, and in 1953 represented Canada at the first ISME (International Society of Music Educators) in Brussels.
